CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY PRE-VARSITY BOXING TOURNAMENT DINNER – 20 NOVEMBER 2008

On the evening of Thursday 20 November 2008, Cambridge University Boxing Team and the Armed Forces (East of England) Select Boxing Team will compete in an amateur boxing tournament at Bassingbourn Barracks, near Royston, the home of one of our Army Recruit Training Regiments. 

The aims of the evening include preparing Cambridge University’s Boxing Team for its forthcoming Varsity Match against their great rivals, Oxford University, fostering links between the Armed Forces and the civilian community and also raising funds for the Fund of the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF).  The ABF is a Soldiers’ Charity providing support to soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need.

You are cordially invited to attend this spectacular event by purchasing Gala Dinner tickets at £100 per person or, better still, by filling a table of eight with friends and colleagues. Spectator only tickets are also available priced at £15. The evening will commence with a ‘Black Tie’ Gala Dinner hosted by a senior Army Officer on each table with sporting celebrities adding colour and entertainment to the evening.  Enjoy an excellent meal followed by a full programme of boxing as well as an interval with refreshments, military music and as much military style and panache as we can possibly fit into a single evening.
